He married, first (May 9, 1793) Miss Jane Jones, of the parish of Wrexham, by whom he had many children of whom several died young, but three reached maturity—Richard, who died in 1823, at the age of 26 ; John, who married and had issue ; and Jane, who became the wife of the late Mr. Charles Bowen Teece, solicitor, of Shrewsbury. He married, secondly (November 18, 1822) Miss Ann Edgworth, only daughter of John Edgworth, Esq., of Bryn-y-grog, in the parish of Marchwiel, and aunt of Thomas Edgworth, Esq., the first Mayor of Wrexham.
