Charlotte Davies was born about 1830 in Wrexham, she was the daughter of Charles Davies a shoemaker. By 1851 her mother had died and Charlotte was the eldest child of 5 still at home with her father, her youngest sister was Emma who had been born about 1844. They were living at the Beast Market, but the family moved to 2 Henblas Street, only Charlotte and Emma were there in 1871, they were both dressmakers. Their father Charles had remarried in 1865 to Jane Harrop who was much younger, and they were with her sons Henry and Llewellyn in Stansty.
In May 1873, Emma married Edwin Jones. It was announced in the newspapers.
JONES—DAVIES On the 21st inst., at St. John’s Church, Chester, by the Rev. W. B. Marsden, vicar, Mr Edwin Jones, Wrexham, to Emma, youngest daughter of Mr Charles Davies, of the same place.
Edwin had been born about 1846, his parents were Henry and Elizabeth Williams who had a provision shop in Pentrefelin. Elizabeth died early in 1848, she had given birth to a daughter not long before. The next year Henry remarried to Mary Evans. Henry died in 1860 but Mary carried on running the shop.
Edwin was still at home in 1871. In 1873 he married Emma Davies.
The couple moved in to 2 Henblas Street which was where the Davies family had previously lived, by 1881 they had 3 children, Kate Louise 5, Edwin Hill Trevor 3 and Florence Eleanor who was only a few months old. Also there with then were Emma`s father Charles and her sister Charlotte. They remained at Henblas Street for many years and had one more son Charles Herbert born there about 1886.
In 1884 Edwin was running his business from Hope Street and he was looking for an apprentice.

Edwin printed the Traffic Regulations for the visit of Queen Victoria to Wrexham in 1889 the notice now has his address as “Argus Office, 9 Chester St.
On 24 September 1890, properties on King Street were to be sold by auction.

Edwin must have bought No 15 as his sister in law Charlotte Davies died there in 1891. He believed that his children should all be well educated as his daughter Kate Louise had qualified as a school teacher, and was a governess living at 15 King Street in the same year.
In 1892 there was an announcement in the news.
COLLEGIATE. we are pleased to learn that Miss K. L. Jones, pupil of the Misses Pierce, High School, Wrexham, and daughter of Mr Edwin Jones, Argus Office, has passed in the recent Cambridge examination.
Edwin and his family eventually all moved to 15 King Street, Kate Louise was now a governess of a school, her sister Florence Eleanor was also teacher. Edwin’s 2 sons were working in his printing business.
Edwin died in September 1905 aged 61, Emma died December 1909 at the same age. His death was announced in the news. 1905 September 30th, aged 61, Mr. Edwin Jones, printer and publisher, Wrexham.
Kate Louise was still in 15 King Street in 1911, she was a teacher for her own account, and Florence Eleanor was a head teacher for the Wrexham Education Committee, their brother Charles was the only other sibling there, he was a printer.
Florence Eleanor died in April 1928, at the same address, she was buried with her parents and her aunt.
