Margaret Griffiths was born 16 November 1817 and died 22 April 1895, her maiden name was Phennah and she was baptised on 14 December 1817at Adwy’r Clawdd Calvinistic Methodist Church, her parents were Thomas who was a tailor and Anne Hughes.

Margaret married Richard Griffiths in 1852.

They first lived at Bank Cottage, where in 1861 a daughter Elizabeth aged just 1 died.

Richard is an iron founder employing 4 men. They have 2 more children Mary Anne Griffiths  7  and Margaretta Griffiths  4.

The family moved out and their home was advertised for rent.

They are later at Foundry House, Rhostyllen where he is a brass and iron founder.

Richard died aged 64 on 24 October 1876, he was buried in the Ruthin Road Cemetery.

It seems Margaret moved back to the cottage as Foundry House is to be let.

Margaret died in 1895 aged 77; she is buried in Wrexham Cemetery. Her daughter Mary Anne Bishop who died 1934 aged 80 ,her husband William Richard Ashton Bishop  who died 1933 aged 52 are buried with her.

Mary Bishop was a teacher at Rhostyllen Infants School from at least 1902, and by 1907 she was headmistress, she stayed in this position until 1920 when she resigned.
